ABOUT

Kalen grew up an avid outdoors enthusiast in the Pacific Northwest and did everything theatre while majoring in Sports Medicine at Willamette University. She continued her theatre training with the American Conservatory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Deaf West Theatre and toured with the National Theatre of the Deaf.

Before heading to Los Angeles, Kalen decided to add writing to her repertoire so she could create unique roles in film & television. She moved to England and earned her Masters in Screenwriting from Leeds Beckett University. A year later, she was awarded a New Writers Residency through BBC Radio & Graeae Theatre and returned to England to learn how to write radio drama.

Kalen has written, acted in, and produced several shorts and has appeared on “Cold Case” and “Switched at Birth.” She is currently developing an original TV pilot and finishing up an action-adventure feature screenplay. When Kalen is not acting or writing, she’s hiking in the canyons, biking, or scaling rock walls—looking for her next adventure.
